The State of Kansas began keeping Birth and Death Records in 1911. Russell County Historical has an extensive research and photograph library that includes pre-1911 records. Early day historians recorded these records, and often times included personal information not easily found, such as: dates, where the family lived, occupations, church affiliation, civil organizations, funeral arrangements and cause of death.

Some of the other documents available for research is census records; city plot books, cemetery plot books, school histories; maps and much more are available to those researching former Russell County residents.
